Meet The Staff!
We thought our customers might appreciate a chance to see the
people they're dealing with when they buy from Captured Prey. These are
the folks that process your orders, pack your shipments, work tables at
conventions, and help create the overall look of the site.

NAME:
Orson Christian
FANDOM ALIAS: Sidecutter
ALLEGIANCE: Evil Dealer Scum
FUNCTION: Owner, Webmaster, Shipper, Customer Service
Greetings! I am your friendly owner and operator of
Captured Prey. Known to the fan community as Sidecutter, my goal is to
rain destruction upon your pathetic plan...err, sorry. I mean, my goal
is to bring you great toys, at great prices, with great service. For
myself, and the rest of my staff, Captured Prey is more than just a way to
make money, and the items we sell are much more to us than just another
product, more than just a line added to be profitable alongside many others.
This site is an extension of our personal love for the hobby of
Transformers, and a desire to spread the enjoyment of these terrific toys to
others as much as possible.
With these ideas in mind, we focus our efforts on bringing you great toys,
and giving our fellow fans quick, personal customer service. We know
that without you, our customers, we would quickly cease to exist, and the
vote of confidence shown by your purchase from us is something we always aim
to fulfill to the highest degree possible. We welcome, and even
encourage, orders from our fellow fans overseas, and will even be more than
happy to hand-deliver any orders to local customers!
Thanks to our customers, we've grown quite a bit since our
(very) humble beginnings in 2001. It's been over four years now, and
we intend to continue to improve the site to make the shopping experience
easier and more enjoyable, one improvement at a time, for many years to
come. Thank You, to all the people who've purchased from us, both
online and at BotCons, and who will do so, and especially to those who have
become loyal repeat customers. You, our customers, are the lifeblood
of this endeavor, and it's success is owed entirely to you.
2006 has been another year of impressive growth and success for us as a
store, and we will endeavor to keep it coming, and keep up with the most
current releases at the best prices possible! We're even investigating
the possibilities of branching out into other, likely related lines. |

NAME: Emery Volz
FANDOM ALIAS: Speedwreck, Bravemax
ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Dealer Scum
FUNCTION: Head Convention Assistant
Emery has been a good friend for years now. He's still odd, but it
would seem that his particular brand of oddness compliments mine nicely.
We often debate opinions on the toys and show, or subtleties in the fiction
and how to interpret it, but there never seems to be a sense of malice to
our debates - they're the healthy type that I imagine help both of us
solidify our opinions and understand the reasoning behind the other's
thoughts, and this is never a bad thing! And his studies in Japanese
language and culture, coupled with his business studies, have yielded some
interesting information that helps both the store and myself in various
ways. Definitely a great person to have around!
Unfortunately, Emery will be in Japan during the time of BotCon 2007, so
we won't have his company and assistance in person. With any luck, his
presence there will benefit him greatly, but his presence will be missed!

NAME:
Walt Jackson
FANDOM ALIAS: Highrise
ALLEGIANCE: Evil Dealer Scum
FUNCTION: Convention Assistant
Walt has been a friend of mine for a few years, and has been invaluable
to me when it comes to being able to obtain some store exclusives in order
to be able to offer those exclusives to buyers who wouldn't have access to
them otherwise. It's always great to be able to spread the enjoyment
of these great specialty items to fans that don't get them locally, and
Walt's help lets me offer many of these at or just slightly above the
original retail prices, without depriving local fans and kids of a chance to
purchase the same toys.
2006 marked Walt's first BotCon, and also his first year assisting at the
booth. His help was highly useful, and his experience in retail let
him dive right in and give me that quality help I need without much lead-in
time. I'm looking forward to Walt joining me on future convention
trips, as he's a great assistant and good friend! I have no doubt
he'll be capable of filling Emery's role as my head assistant in 2007, and
am pleased to entrust to booth to him when it's my turn to take in something
outside the dealer room!

NAME:
Vernon Skach & Tiffany Poston
FANDOM ALIASES: Dio & Tex
ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Assistant & Heroic Assistant
FUNCTION: Convention Assistant & Convention Assistant
I first met Paul Teutel, Jr. - I mean, Dio, online, after Dak
finally got me hooked on being a part of the zany IaconHub after OTFCC 2004.
It was of course great to finally "meet" these characters Dak had told me so
much about, and many of them have come to be among those I consider friends,
though I have not been fortunate enough to meet most of them offline.
Among these are Dio, who was kind enough, with his girlfriend Tiffy, to
volunteer to assist us with the booth this year.
Though we weren't able to make as much use of them as I might have hoped,
it was still good to have the extra help at times, and I hope they'll
consent to work with us again, hopefully in a more utilized capacity.
We were at least able to make good use of Tiffy, who makes a much more
attractive spokes-model for handing out prizes at the drawing than the rest
of us do! Thanks for helping, both of you, and I hope to see you both
in person again next year!

NAME: Michael Kenney
FANDOM ALIAS: Dak Roland
ALLEGIANCE: Heroic Graphic Artist
FUNCTION: Graphics Guru (Lead Graphic Artist)
Michael has been an online friend for some time
now, and has been working the graphics for the site since before I could
afford to compensate him properly. His work is gorgeous stuff.
He's got great skills, and is always my first call for major graphics work
on this and any other projects. He's responsible in large part for
major elements of the site's look and feel, and deserves more kudos than I
know how to offer. Top notch job, Dak! |
