How do you ship your items?

We ship all our orders via the United States Postal Service, or USPS.  Most orders can be affordably shipped by the 2-3 day Priority Mail option, though we offer other options as well.  We find that parcel post tends to be uneconomical for all but the larger orders, usually saving a few cents at most.  Shipping options for overseas and outside the US are also available.


What are the shipping rates?

The shipping rates are determined by the USPS, and are displayed in the checkout process when you are presented with choices.  Many smaller orders can easily be shipped for $5.00 or less without extra options.  If you would like to get some idea of what shipping will cost, you may wish to try using the postal rates calculator at the United States Postal Service website.  Three pounds is fairly average for an order for us.  To get an estimate, enter three pounds as the weight, use 40217 as the origin zip code, and use your postal code (or country, if you reside outside the US and it's territories) as the destination.  For orders inside the US, you should select Priority Mail service.  Outside the US, we normally ship by Air Letter Post or Air Parcel Post.  Global Priority Mail is not available.


Where do you ship to?

We ship world-wide!  If the USPS ships to a country, we'll sell to customers there.  If you encounter an error when attempting to checkout in regards to your country, please notify us so we can correct the counties database and resolve it.


When will I get my order?

We do our best to ship all orders within 4 days of payment, however, some orders may take up to a week to ship once payment is received.  This is due to the schedules of the post office locations in our area, and the need to work around the schedules of our day jobs.  You will receive a shipping notice the day your order ships, and you can view your order status online to check your Delivery Confirmation number (US packages only) or tracking number (express mail or foreign express packages only).  Your order will arrive after shipment depending on your location.  Normally, US orders arrive within three days of shipment.


How will my order be packed?

With care!  We pack all orders using combinations of bubble wrap (in all parcels), plastic bags, paper shreds, or crumpled newspaper.  The particular packing of your order will depend on the quantity of a particular packing material available at the time, but will always include bubble wrap to a large degree.  Generally, plastic bags are used as a space filler, to keep shipping weights as low as possible.


What is the return/refund policy?

Generally, Captured Prey does not offer refunds, however, we will do what we can to make the situation right whenever possible.  This includes working with out suppliers to obtain replacement parts or items if necessary.  Issuing refunds costs us a significant amount of money.  Every time we issue a refund, we lose the cost of any fees incurred on your payment over and above the amount of the refund.  As such, we aim to resolve any issues through other methods first.  In the case of any refund or exchange, the merchandise must be returned to us so that any claims to problems can be verified.


Insurance can be added to any DOMESTIC ORDER using the button in the navigation column on the left side of the page.  The cost of insurance is determined by the value of your order.  You MUST SELECT the correct amount range for your order.  We can only compensate you for the amount of insurance purchased.  If you select too low of an insurance amount, we will only be able to insure your package for the maximum amount allowable for that charge.  If your package is damaged or destroyed, we will ONLY be able to compensate you for the amount claimed, if less than the true value of the order.


Insurance

Insurance can be added to any DOMESTIC ORDER using the button in the navigation column on the left side of the page. 

The cost of insurance is determined by the value of your order.  You MUST SELECT the correct amount range for your order.  We will insure your package for the actual value of your order plus shipping costs.  Insurance claims are subject to the results of any USPS investigations and we cannot reimburse you for an insured order until the USPS has A) determined the veracity of the claim, and B) paid us for the value of your order.  Insurance claims denied by the USPS will NOT be reimbursed.

We can only compensate you for the amount of insurance purchased.  If you select too low of an insurance amount, we will only be able to insure your package for the maximum amount allowable for that charge.  If your package is damaged or destroyed, we will ONLY be able to compensate you for the amount claimed, if less than the true value of the order.


Shipping Disclaimer

Captured Prey makes every effort to ensure that all our products are treated with care.  This includes the time your items spend in our care and storage, and the careful packing of your items for shipment.  We make every effort to inspect and certify the quality of our product, and to describe that product in full, accurate detail.  However, sometimes things go wrong.  With that in mind, Captured Prey cannot accept responsibility for the following situations:

- Factory errors and omissions, including paint applications and missing parts.
- Shipper damage to uninsured packages.
- Theft or loss of uninsured packages.

However, we wish to note that we have never received any complaints regarding an item, nor have we been informed of any items lost or damaged in shipment.  We'd like to think that this is due to our excellent standards of packing.


Why Captured Prey exists.

Captured Prey exists to do exactly what our slogan says.  Providing great toys, at great prices, with great service.  This site was started because the owner feels that too many sites selling Transformers merchandise these days are charging for more than can be justified.  Helping do something about this is the whole idea.  The owner runs this site because he loves these toys, and wants to help as many fellow fans as possible get them at a fair price.


Why should I buy here?

Because when you buy here, you're buying from fellow fans!  Transformers are what we know, what we love, and what we do.  We're not here to get rich.  We're not here to offer a huge selection of toy lines, and merely make Transformers one of them.  Transformers are what we do, and they are all we do.  We love these toys, shows, and other products as much  as our customers, and pride ourselves on our knowledge of the product we sell.

Captured Prey Privacy Policy

Captured Prey values your privacy.  We hate spam and unsolicited mailings and contacts as much as anyone.  To this end, Captured Prey will never sell or trade your personal or contact information with ANYONE.  Ever.  We feel no need to profit by selling others the information given us in good faith.

How do I turn on cookies for your site without letting them all in from every site on the web?

To set your cookies to allow Captured Prey to give them to you in Internet Explorer:

1) Go to the "Tools" menu, then to "Internet Options...".
2)Click the Privacy tab, then click on the "Edit" button near the bottom of the window, under the heading of "Web Sites".
3) Enter HTTP://WWW.CAPTUREDPREY.COM in the input box marked "Address of web site" and click on the "Allow" button to the right of the entry field.
4) Enter HTTP://207.36.17.123/CAPTUREDP/SCRIPTS/ in the input box marked "Address of web site" and click on the "Allow" button to the right of the entry field.
5) Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window to close this dialog box.
6) Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window to finish.  You should now have no problems with shopping!


Why isn't the discount code working?

To enter a discount code, you must do the following:

1) Select the items you wish to purchase.
2) Enter your code in the "Dicsount Code:" box on the Cart page.
3) Click "Update Cart".
4) Your discount will show as applied in the card, and you may now proceed with checkout!


When will my pre-order be charged?

Pre-orders are generally due at the time you place the purchase.  This helps us insure that we have the necessary funds on hand when required to pay for the product, and weeds out insincere orders.  We guarantee that all pre-orders WILL be filled, and the price will not be changed after your order is placed, unless the increase in cost to us is extreme.  If this is necessary, you will be contacted first to obtain your consent.  If, due to circumstances beyond our control, the order cannot be met, you will receive a full refund, including shipping.  This, however, is highly unlikely.


What condition are the items in?

We do our best to describe all items accurately.  Generally speaking, items described as care fresh will be in C9 or better packaging.  On occasion, small imperfections may occur during shipping of the product, causing case fresh items to contain small defects.  If you desire the most perfect item possible, please note this in your order in the appropriate place, and we will fulfill the request as best we can.  All sealed items ARE sealed exactly as received from the factory in the factory sealed case.  Absence or presence of tape, the number of tape applications, and so forth, is entirely up to the factory in these cases.

Cash may be sent if desired, but we warn that cash is to be sent entirely at the buyer's own risk.  Captured Prey does NOT accept responsibility for lost, stolen, missing, or under-funded cash payments, or for otherwise missing payments sent by mail.

We're sorry, but we do not currently accept personal checks or online checks.
